POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION: 1984-1987: Trained and worked as Fitness instructor in Sydney, Australia; taught aerobics fitness classes, supervised gym (weight) area, and provided weight training instruction. 1988-1992: Graduated Australasian College of Natural Medicine (Sydney, Australia) in 1992 with Diploma in Naturopathic Medicine (including Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Massage Therapy, Counselling techniques, and Flower Essences; as well as 1000 hours Naturopathic Clinic, 800 hours Homeopathic clinic, and 200 hours Massage clinic). Note: from 1987-1991 worked as a medical assistant; from 1991-1992 worked as a chiropractic assistant. 1993-Present: Moved to Edmonton, Canada, and opened Living Energy Natural Health Centre (Ltd). 1993-1997: Teacher at the College of Natural Healing Arts (St. Albert) teaching courses in Nutrition, Vitamins and Minerals, Case-taking, Tissue Salts, and Flower Essences. 2002: Spiritual Response Therapy Course, Edmonton. 2003: Granted Doctor of Natural Medicine designation by the Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners – Canada. 2003: Course in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) 2003: Course in "Pawspoint" (animal reflexology) 2005-2007 President of Association of Doctors of Natural Medicine - Alberta (ADNMA) Currently sit as Director on the Executive Board of ADNMA. 2007: Update course in "Pawspoint" (animal reflexology) EXPERIENCE: I have been in private practice in Canada since August 1993 and I currently have a busy clinic on my acreage in Carvel (approximately 35 minutes west of Edmonton). Over the last 14 years, I have presented to groups all over Alberta including: - Women’s group in Edson (presentations on menopause, PMS, and general health) - Women’s Health Fair in Whitecourt (mini presentations on general health issues) - Women’s Health Fair in Fox Creek (keynote speaker, presentation on women’s health issues) - Part of “Professional panel” for Continuing Education Massage Therapy students - Presented at the Discovery Wellness Centre (general health and wellness) - Part of the “Pamper me Silly” women’s retreats in Canmore (presented information about natural health in general) - Yearly presentations for the Menopause Support Group at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. - Presentation on general nutrition and health to the dental hygienists at the University of Alberta. - Previous volunteer and member of the Hope Foundation of Edmonton. - Regular contributor of health-related articles to “Heartbeat” magazine. - Previous health information sessions on ITV (now Global), CFRN (Edmonton), and Access Television (Edmonton). - Ongoing presentations on nutrition to students at MH Vicars School of Massage in Edmonton. RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 2005: Expansion of Living Energy to include LIVING ENERGY NATURAL HEALTH STUDIES - the teaching branch of Living Energy. Course taught through Living Energy Studies include: 2005: Launch of the Living Energy Wholistic Nutrition Correspondence Course - this 2 year plus program provides students with a comprehensive study in Nutrition. Graduates of the program (all 4 levels) are granted the title of "Wholistic Nutrition Advisor™". For more information go to our Nutrition Course Information page. 2005: Launch of the Living Energy Living Energy Essences Correspondence Course - a one-year correspondence program focusing on the Living Energy essences; includes "hands-on" experience, and an overview of the Bach flower essences. For more information go to our Essences Course Information page. 2007: Launch of the Living Energy Back to Basics Course - this 12 month correspondence program was created to fulfill the educational needs of people starting out in the field of Nutrition. This course is a pre-requisite for the Wholistic Nutrition Program (exemptions are available - contact Living Energy for more information).
